Getting Here

From Seattle:  Bus and train service from Seattle to Mt. Vernon are available; check with Amtrack.  You can also take a pleasant 1.5 hour drive from Seattle to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal.

Aboard the San Juan Islands Ferry you’ll enjoy one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful cruises for the cost of a commuter ferry ticket!  Relax in the comfortable and roomy San Juan Island Ferry for a one hour cruise through the incredible San Juan Islands where you may see bald eagles or even a pod of Orca’s.

Driving:  Take I-5 from Seattle North to Exit 230 (To Anacortes, ferries to San Juan Islands).  Take exit 230 to the west (left) and follow Highway 20 to Anacortes Ferry Terminal, about 20 miles (35 minutes).  Check the Ferry Schedule for sailing schedules.  Plan on about a one hour tour through the San Juan Islands.  Late ferries run in the Summer season, so you can enjoy a sunset tour if you plan it right.

Trains from Seattle:  Amtrack has regularly scheduled service from Seattle to Mt. Vernon. From the Mt. Vernon train station, you can take a cab to the ferry or use mass transit – Skagit Transit

Flying:  Air service is available via San Juan Airlines and through Kenmore Air directly to the San Juan Islands.  Costs vary according to season, but you should expect about $90 each way.  During the flight you’ll have a view very few get the opportunity to enjoy.

Private Aircraft:  Flights into KORS are one of America’s most delightful experiences.  From Oregon in the south, you’ll see Mt. St. Helen’s, Mt. Rainier, the Puget Sound and traveling along west of Seattle.  Airspace is class B in Seattle, so a transponder and contact are required, but there’s plenty of room to the west of the airspace for private aircraft to fly.  Flight following is available through Seattle Center, and your flight service station. Cessna 180 time from Portland OR is about 80 minutes; about 180 NM.  Be sure to get your flight briefing and file a flight plan!

From Vancouver, BC:  Guests from the Vancouver area find it a simple 1 1/2 drive to the Anacortes Ferry terminal.  From there you can choose to drive on to the ferry, or park your car in Anacortes and walk aboard.
